Cookie Policy

What cookies are, what we use, and how to manage them — including browser settings and Global Privacy Control.

In plain English

We set strictly necessary cookies by default. Analytics and preferences cookies are loaded only after you consent. You can change your choice at any time.

01

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, to improve performance, and to provide information to site operators. Cookies set by the site you are visiting are called first-party cookies; cookies set by other organisations are called third-party cookies.

This policy covers cookies and similar technologies such as local storage, pixels and tags. In the rest of this policy, the word “cookie” refers to all of them.

02

Our approach

Yottatable loads strictly necessary cookies by default. We do not load analytics, advertising or preferences cookies until you consent, where consent is required by law. We do not use third-party advertising cookies at all.

03

Categories we use

  • Strictly necessary: cookies that the site cannot function without. Examples include the cookie that records your consent choice and any short-lived cookie required for security. These are always active.
  • Analytics: cookies that count page views and basic usage data in aggregate. Used to understand which articles and tools are most useful. Disabled by default; loaded only after consent.
  • Preferences: cookies that remember choices you have made on the site, such as the calculator units you last selected. Disabled by default; loaded only after consent.
04

Third-party cookies

We do not embed third-party advertising cookies, third-party analytics trackers that follow you across other sites, or social-media pixels. If a third-party cookie is ever introduced for a specific feature (for example an embedded video), we will list it here and require consent before loading it.

05

How to manage cookies in your browser

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Most browsers let you refuse all cookies, accept only first-party cookies, or delete cookies when you close the browser. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of the site from working.

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data.
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
  • Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
  • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Cookies and site data.
06

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

We respect the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. Where our cookie banner or analytics tooling can read a GPC signal, we treat it as an opt-out of non-essential cookies.
